Saddle up, CoJo Nation, the cowboy is coming home.
The 94th Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ will wrap up with a Texas-sized bang as Cody Johnson returns for a special full-length concert performance on Sunday, March 22, 2026. This marks a major milestone, as Johnson becomes just the second entertainer ever to headline a concert-only night at RODEOHOUSTON — following none other than George Strait in 2022.
The Texas native and multi-platinum country powerhouse has graced the RODEOHOUSTON star stage five times before, each time delivering a performance that fans still talk about. From debuting “Welcome to the Show” as the Rodeo’s official anthem in 2019 to pulling massive crowds of 70,000+ fans in recent years, Johnson has become one of the event’s most beloved mainstays.
“Every performance at RODEOHOUSTON is a privilege,” Johnson shared. “Being asked to perform on a special night like this surpasses any of my wildest dreams.”
Why It Matters
Cody Johnson isn’t just a fan favorite — he’s a flagbearer for the kind of country music that hits hard and stays honest. Fresh off a Song of the Year win at the 2025 ACM Awards for “Dirt Cheap” and a streak of honors from CMT, CMA, and iHeartRadio, Johnson’s momentum is unmatched.
His 2023 RODEOHOUSTON show brought in over 73,000 fans, and in 2024, he shocked the crowd with a surprise appearance during Jelly Roll’s set — cementing his place as not just a performer, but a showman.
