Wounded combat veteran Seth Cole wrote a poignant song called “Rise Above,” which was recorded by country star Craig Campbell through a collaboration with CreatiVets. Campbell performed a moving acoustic version of the track during halftime of the Tennessee Titans/Carolina Panthers game on Sunday.
Following the performance, Nissan and the Titans presented Cole and his family with a new 2024 Nissan Pathfinder SUV in front of a stadium of tear-filled fans. View the performance and presentation HERE.No events found.
A single father of five, Cole and his children were honored guests at the Titans “Salute to Service” game. Following several rough years of rehabilitation after a devasting Iraq war injury and rebuilding his life as a civilian, a military buddy called and recommended they attend a CreatiVets event. The non-profit empowers wounded veterans with post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries to heal through art and music. Cole credits the organization for leading him to write “Rise Above,” which helped him deal not only with his war experience but with his own childhood trauma.
“It’s so special to be here to play this song with Seth and his family standing here and all these amazing Titans fans that get to hear his song and his story,” said Craig Campbell following the performance.
