PEARL RECORDS’ artist GARTH BROOKS will become the first artist to play the NOTRE DAME STADIUM in SOUTH BEND, IN.
At a press conference in NASHVILLE yesterday (7/9), BROOKS outlined his plans to perform at a soon-to-be-announced date. For the press conference, BROOKS was joined by former UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME head football coach LOU HOLTZ, NOTRE DAME VP/Campus Safety & Event Management MIKE SEAMON, and others. BROOKS also hinted that the event would be the beginning of a new chapter for his forthcoming tour, indicating to those present that other college football stadium dates may be on the horizon.
“NOTRE DAME STADIUM has seen some iconic moments,” said BROOKS. “I look forward to bringing a new kind of crazy to the party.” Added NOTRE DAME EVP JOHN AFFLECK-GRAVES, “Right from the outset, I just felt that GARTH represents NOTRE DAME’s values. And, he is the perfect choice as the first artist to perform in concert in the stadium that ROCKNE built. This promises to be one of the biggest events in NOTRE DAME’s history.”
BROOKS told ALL ACCESS that, although no date has been announced yet, the show will be slated for “a SATURDAY night. One night only.” BROOKS will share the news with fans tonight via his regularly scheduled FACEBOOK LIVE series, “INSIDE STUDIO G.”
