Middle TENNESSEE is getting a new amphitheater, joining downtown NASHVILLE’s ASCEND AMPHITHEATER and FRANKLIN, TN’s FIRSTBANK AMPHITHEATER, which opened last year. Coming to MURFREESBORO, TN in 2023 is the SUNSET AMPHITHEATER, a new venue under development from COLORADO SPRINGS-based entertainment company NOTES LIVE. The 4,500-seat outdoor amphitheater will have an adjacent indoor music hall and restaurant.
The planned $40 million venue will have amenities including “32 firepit suites alongside stadium-style seating and causal lawn seating,” according to PR materials. “Livestreaming from the amphitheater and the neighboring indoor venue, the [1,400 capacity] BOOT BARN HALL, are anticipated. The facilities will be located on the 18.2-acre city parcel located on the southeast corner of Medical Center Parkway and Gateway Boulevard.” See a video rendering of the planned campus here.
The campus is expected to employ 200 full and part-time workers and host weekly concerts. The complex will also include an “upscale, casual” restaurant, to be called BOURBON BROTHERS SMOKEHOUSE & TAVERN with a tasting room, rooftop patio and a large outdoor patio.
NOTES LIVE and city officials are negotiating development agreements that will require MURFREESBORO CITY COUNCIL approval.
“We are excited to announce another high-quality entertainment venture to our city featuring live music in both indoor and outdoor settings,” said MURFREESBORO Mayor SHANE McFARLAND. “Providing final agreements are approved by COUNCIL, the amphitheater will be a public-private partnership adding a significant amenity to the area and elevating MURFREESBORO in the NASHVILLE music scene.”
