Parker McCollum has been put on vocal rest, causing him to postpone an upcoming stop on his Burn It Down Tour.
The Texas native was originally set to perform in Portsmouth, VA on Thursday, Sept. 19, however per the recent statement shared on his Instagram story, he is following doctor’s orders and taking an extra day of rest.
“I want to keep giving that stage everything I’ve got every night,” the Texas native shared. “It’s with a truly heavy heart that I have to announce we are having to postpone our show for Thursday in Portsmouth, VA. Been having such a damn good time with you all during this tour and I want to keep giving that stage everything I’ve got every night. My doctor has had me on vocal rest the past few days and one more day of rest should mean I’ll be ready to sing by Friday.”
Hopefully, he will be feeling ready to return to the stage for the remainder of this weekend’s shows, which includes a visit to Simpsonville, SC on Sept. 20 and Orlando, FL on Sept. 21. Those who were planning to attend tomorrow night’s show will receive more information at a later time.
“Orlando and Simpsonville shows will not be affected, and I look forward to seeing you all soon. Details on the new Portsmouth date TBA. Mad love,” he wrote in conclusion.
Named after his CMA Song of the Year nominated track, the Burn It Down Tour kicked off in April and is set to continue through October 26. He is joined by special guests including Corey Kent, Chayce Beckham and Randy Rogers Band as well as supporting acts like Ashley Cooke, Catie Offerman, Dasha, Elvie Shane, George Birge, Kassi Ashton, Kylie Morgan, Mackenzie Porter, and Tigirlily Gold on select dates.
Once he wraps up the run, he plans to enjoy some downtime at home with his wife, Hallie Ray Light, and their baby boy, Major.
