On the verge of releasing her first full-on county record, sassy punk/pop force Elle King announces her “A-FREAKIN-MEN TOUR.” The banjo-toting multiple Grammy nominee is slated for nearly 30 dates on her headlining tour, set to kick off at The Fillmore in New Orleans on Valentine’s Day.
The trek ranges from legendary venues including Tulsa’s Cain Ballroom, Cleveland, Ohio’s Masonic Auditorium and Lexington, Kentucky’s Manchester Music Hall to two night stands at Asheville, North Carolina’s Orange Peel and Portland, Oregon’s Revolution Hall. King will be joined on the road by opening act Red Clay Strays.
Come Get Your Wife, King’s country debut, features the No. 1 “Drunk (& I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” duet with Miranda Lambert and current rising single “Worth A Shot” with Dierks Bentley, along with several more brash, hilarious slices of life beyond the city limits. Look for the same kind of humor and music forward approach to her live shows.
“I have a great band that’s as comfortable with raw ass country as they are rock, punk, gospel or blues,” King says. “When we hit that stage, we play it all hard, but we keep our sense of humor about us. The idea is to have fun, throw off what’s bothering you and getting real by having a laugh about it! Hey, A-freakin-men.”

Having toured with Joan Jett, Miranda Lambert, Ed Sheeran, Modest Mouse, and Chris Stapleton, King is ready to get back to playing her own shows. Excepting the tour’s closing date at Bossier City, LA’s Margaritaville Resort Theater, the Red Clay Strays will open the tour.
With the “X’s and O’s” and “American Sweetheart” songwriter already winning the 2016 Country Music Association Vocal Event for “It’s Different for Girls” with Dierks Bentley and the 2020 Academy of Country Music Vocal Event” for “Fooled Around (& Fell In Love)” with Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, Maren Morris, Tenille Townes and Caylee Hammack, her county bona fides are as solid as pop, punk and alternative swagger.
“Music lovers, life lovers, people who want to have fun, come on out,” King said, “Don’t worry about what we call it, though it’s the kind of country that really comes from the country, but it rocks when it has to. I mean, I got my record deal with a couple songs I’d written on the banjo, so this is something I’m very serious about and can’t wait to get started.”
Box office reports submitted to Pollstar for King include a sold-out March 22 show at McMenamins Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon, that sold 1,425 tickets and grossed $51,740. Highlights from her time on the road supporting Chris Stapleton this summer include three shows at the 8,206-capacity Bank of NH Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire, that sold a total of 24,618 tickets and grossed $2,389,976.
