Ronnie Dunn's Rodeo Photography Exhibition Opens in Oklahoma City

The exhibition follows riders, ropers, barrel racers and bucking stock through the speed and unpredictability of rodeo. It also looks at the quieter moments around the action, reflecting Dunn’s interest in the anticipation that comes before a performance or competition begins.

Dunn draws a connection between walking onto a concert stage and watching a rodeo gate open. Both involve preparation followed by a moment whose outcome cannot be fully controlled.

“There’s a moment right before it happens — whether you’re walking onto a stage or watching that gate open — when you know something is coming, but you don’t know exactly how it’s going to turn out,” Dunn said.

A longtime photography enthusiast, Dunn has also photographed Western landscapes and wildlife. This exhibition gives fans a chance to see another creative side of the Brooks & Dunn singer, with timing and instinct playing a central role in his work behind the camera.
