As the sun set over the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre on Tuesday night, the 13-time GRAMMY® award-winning, multi-platinum selling global superstars, The Chicks, kicked off their highly anticipated THE CHICKS TOUR in Maryland Heights, MO. Performing to a packed house, legendary singer – songwriter Patty Griffin opened the evening with soaring set – spanning her vast catalogue as well as debuting “Don’t Mind,” off her latest release TAPE. The Chicks followed with a wide selection of their classic hits, as well as new tracks off their 2020 critically acclaimed fifth studio album, GASLIGHTER.

Instantly bringing the crowd to their feet, The Chicks opened their first tour in five years with a fan-favorite hit “Sin Wagon,” off their sophomore album FLY, followed by the first-ever live performance of their chart-topping anthem “Gaslighter,” off the trios most recent studio album of the same name. Natalie Maines, Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire kept the crowd moving with songs including “Tights On My Boat,” “Cowboy Take Me Away,” “Long Time Gone,” and protest ballad “March March.” Closing the opening night of their summer 2022 The Chicks Tour, the band delivered an epic encore with  “Not Ready to Make Nice” and “Goodbye Earl.”

Produced by Live Nation, The Chicks Tour will be embarking on a 30+ city run across North America throughout the summer. Joining the band on tour as support acts this summer are 2X GRAMMY® award- winner and 7X nominee, singer/songwriter Patty Griffin who opened the show in St. Louis last night and will remain on the road through the July 16 Alpharetta, GA show at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre. Griffin will rejoin the tour beginning on August 5 at the USANA Amphitheatre in Salt Lake City through the final show set for August 13 at The Gorge in George, WA. Critically-acclaimed and iconic L.A. singer-songwriter Jenny Lewis – “a singular artist with a rich, robust musical palette whose still inspiring contemporaries” (NPR) –has spent the last year releasing a handful of new tracks and crisscrossing North America as special guest of Harry Styles, in addition to her own headlining dates, will join The Chicks Tour for six dates beginning July 23 at the North Island Credit Union.

Earning universal recognition as the biggest-selling U.S. female band of all time, The Chicks have sold more than 30.5 million albums and are among an elite group of artists and the only female group to achieve multiple “diamond” selling (ten million copies) releases. Counting 13 GRAMMY® Awards, six Billboard Music Awards, four American Music Awards, and numerous Country Music Association Awards among many other accolades, their last record-breaking studio album, TAKING THE LONG WAY (2006), won five GRAMMY® Awards including “Album of the Year,” “Record of the Year,” and “Song of the Year.”
